Back in the saddle...

Three weeks ago Anne and I bought her a new KHS mountain bike at Rubber Soul which provided me the motivation to overhaul my bike and start riding my bike again. After two weeks of cleaning, polishing, torquing, etc. Replacing the tires, tubes, handlebars, stem, grips, brake pads, and all the cables my 1994 GT RTS-3 is back in service. Since last week I have ridden five times totalling 50 miles. I have been riding from my house near Teague and Willow along the Palo Alta trail to Shaw and Clovis and back. With every ride I am increasing my average speed and feeling less fatigued at the end of the ride. My immediate goal is to ride 15 miles at a time and maintain 14 MPH. My mid-range goal is to get in a good enough condition that I can start riding off-road again.

No Soccer for Sam

Well it sounded like a good idea, to sign Sam up for soccer through Maple Creek's soccer league, but it appears he does not want to go. Oh well, we'll try something else and maybe he'll be ready for soccer again next year.

My first thought

I have never done a "Blog" before and so when I created this one a name for the Blog had to be represenative of our family. Do you know what ScAnSaBr stands for? Actually I stole the idea from my brother Keith who named his 1989 SeaRay 160 "KeShDeVa" taking the first two letters from his, his girlfirend Debbie and her kid's, Shawn and Vanessa's first names.

My wife and I will be periodically updating this Blog with information about our family, personal interests - the usual stuff. Please drop us a line or leave a comment to let us know you stopped by.
